This cap and ball revolver was made in 1854 as a prototype for a company,
Allen, Brown & Luther, in Worcester, Massachusetts, that is now defunct.
The really noteworthy part was the engineers involved in making it.
They had just got out of college, and while their design was very nice,
it was totally impractical to the federal government.
Consequently the feds didn't want anything to do with it.

The engineers where:
Crawford: Possibly became a watchmaker
J. Stevens: Formed a company famous for shotguns
Horace Smith and his future business partner Daniel Baird Wesson

Truly a dream team!

The revolver was not operating correctly so I rebuilt/restored it.
I collected all the shooting accessories and made a display case for all the items.
(The box and shooting accessories are period correct and made to look old.
Everything except the pistol is contemporary
).
